I feel the time for poetry has come again. I have a feeling you'll never read these, but the day you do will be a beautiful one. Regardless of where we are by then. This is probably the best poem I've written, and whilst it is not a happy poem, I feel that maybe you are the only one who can apprechiate it:

The grass never did flourish
The fertilizer doesn’t nourish
I kept you up for hours on the phone
Just to tell you ‘I still sleep alone’

I thought of every way to say it
Prose, Poetry, Speech and Lyric
I just need to say ‘you’re wrong’
I’ve slept alone for far too long

I decided to play the game of lust
Deal the cards, hit me, hit me, bust
You stood watching as I said those lines
‘the sheets are cold and my heart whines’

I made my mark upon your heart
And now we never seem to part
But when I look I still see
The empty space next to me

I make a good first impression
But allow me to teach this lesson
Never pity and never sigh
At a man who has yet to lie
In a bed filled to its proper level
Of loving warmth and joyful revel
If you see some gent like that
Pass on by and tip your hat
Or else you’ll get a rotten earful
‘I still sleep alone and you too had better be careful’.
